Introducing Cyrille Adam- Researcher, Instructional Designer, and Innovations Consultant

Cyrille Adam obtained his B.A. in philosophy at the University of Durham and completed a Master of Education and doctoral coursework in Communications, Media and Learning Technologies Design at Teachers College, Columbia University. Mr. Adam is a cross-functional product manager, researcher, and learning experience designer. He has over 20 years of experience in conceptualizing training solutions for healthcare professionals, developing partnerships, and taking digital products to market.

As a former Senior Director of Health Programs at Kognito, he has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience at the intersection of technology and healthcare. Mr. Adam previously conducted UX and market research for the promotion of new healthcare training simulation platforms, directed the development of new products, and worked with subject matter experts to address clinical or training gaps by implementing evidence-based clinical practices. Mr. Adam managed large-scale projects funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation.

He also has experience in instructional design and research and is highly proficient with different authoring and design tools. Mr. Adam is bilingual and well-versed in English and French. As a member of the Addiction Training for Health Professionals (ATHP) staff, he works closely with several teams, including ATHP Research Team, the Instructional Design Team, and the Innovations team. With his diverse background, Mr. Adam supports the Innovations team by testing various new technologies and processes to help improve the effectiveness of the NextGenU.org platform and by applying the best practices in the instructional design process, course content, and educational tools. As an educational researcher, he has published more than a dozen articles in peer-reviewed publications and contributed to the development and design of cutting-edge courses. Despite his busy professional life, Mr. Adam has also made time for volunteer work. He is presently a member of the Park Slope Food Coop and previously assisted in relief efforts for Hurricane Sandy victims in Staten Island (NY).

 

The Addiction Training for Health Professionals (ATHP) program recognizes the importance of promoting research, education, and collaboration in the fields of substance abuse, addiction, and mental health. As such, they seek to actively contribute to and develop policies and resources to improve the quality and accessibility of addiction education and training over time. The work done by these individuals helps contribute to the success of this initiative and brings us one step closer to bridging the gap between research and practice by improving and advancing the science of educational technology.
